Breath Power

You know the power of breathing for a living being. If you breath slowly you live longer. Look at elephants, tortoise which breath very less per day and live more than 100 years. Look at dog, donkey which breath very fast per second and live a life of 20 years or so. We humans have different breathing rates and we live for years ranging from 10 - 100 years. We heard that people are living more than 100 years. They breath very less. Whether they eat or not breathing is the one which make them live longer and healthier. With breathing you can control your living. I can give the example of Dr. Rajkumar (Famous kannada {Indian Regional Language} film actor) who lived and died according to his wish and he was knowing the techinique of controlling breathing. So guys, breath properly and slowly and live long years. Happy breathing.. :)

Breathing!! Which keeps one alive :-)? Of course our health is dependent on our breathing rate. But you can always control your breathing by doing exercises regularly. It is believed that one whose breathing rate is slow is healthier. You would have observed that on doing exercises your heart beat increases. I was wondering how exercises will make one healthy (reduces the beating rate) when it increases heart rate. Although I found some answers none of them were more convincing. Can any one tell me how does it work (scientifically)?

There are two kinds of exercises:
1. Doing exercise fast called as Gimnastic.
2. Doing exercise slowly called as Yoga.

Gimnastic make someone fit and fine but not healthy for long time. But Yoga does. Yoga which is done with less breathing makes one healthy. With yoga you can be helthy and live longer. Also you can maintain your body and its shape as well with yoga. There are lot of books and site available in net which guides. But remember always learn yoga with experts. Not all yoga is good. Check with yoga experts.

I do not agree. All exercises regulate our breathing. Only thing unknown is how it does. As per our company's Yoga instructor who is also a doctor, doing any exercise increases the heart beat at that point but later it regulates and slows it down. By this it reduces the beat rate and keeps one healthier. What say??

No. I think you have very less information about yoga. In yoga you take long breath. Like for doing soorya namaskaara you inhale and exhale very slowly. Like praanaayaama you take breath very less. If you take a very less breath then only it is called as praanaayaama. If you do a yoga like sitting on your leg then you can decide on your breath whether you have to take long breath or very less breath. Heart beat increases only if you take a short breath. long breath is the one where you inhale for long time and exhale for long time. Everytime you do it very slowly. then your heart will beat very slowly. which as per science will increase your health and age. Meditation is the one which is not a technigque or no one can teach it. We can only get the knowledge of it. Meditation is the one where you will control your breathing. you need to concentrate on your breathing and you have to breath very slowly. when you breath slowly and concentrate for hours then you are a good meditationist. There are 5 stages of meditation in yoga and the final stage is called as samadhi where the person wont breath at all. At every stage you breath very less. To achieve samadhi you need a lot of practice. A lot here is years. You need years together practice to achieve samadhi stage.
